2D Boolean Operations in TC Deluxe 16

I'm a noob to TC and am working through the training guides.  I have two 2D objects that I am trying to do a boolean add with.  I've selected "2D Boolean Operations Add" from the toolbar but when I try to select an object I get an error message that reads "Select an object for boolean operations."  I've tried restarting TC, made sure I was working on the right work plane and everything else I could think of.  Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you

The object you select has to be a valid 2D object.  Is it possible you are not using 2D objects?

The functions won't work with Lines, Double Lines, etc.  While they will work with Closed Polylines, they will not work with Polylines that are not properly Closed into a 2D object.

Thanks Jeff - I found out that I had several snap modes selected and for some reason they were preventing me from being able to select my objects.  I'm not too sure why though but selecting "No Snap" seemed to fix my problem.

Yeah, I normally turn Snap modes off and use SEKEs.
