I wish to create a circle then copy that along a spline with fixed spacing in 2-D, is there a way to do that?
I have TC 14 and 18
thanks in advance

Sorry - still thinking about it, I was hoping you have Pro Platinum as then you could use the pattern tool to get reference points for the circles, but I can't think of another way at present..

Look under the modify menu for “arrange graphics by path’ > graphic on path
> # sets and distance
Working in world plan
After you make the copies > select all circles and “place on workplane”
The pattern tools in V18 does not support 2D entities.

One way: Open the Properties dialog for the spline and set its Pen properties as shown in the attached screenshot (adjusting the Dash Scale to suit, and of course the color isn't important). In its Properties 3D page, assign a small but nonzero Thickness. Select the circle to be copied, enable Rubber Stamp, and vertex-snap a copy of the circle to the endpoint of each dash.

The pattern tools in V18 does not support 2D entities.

Could one change the 2D entity-- temporarily-- to 3D via assigning it a Height in its Properties/3D page.
Do the Pattern procedure.
Select All, and change back to 2D (0 Height).

I think Dean's idea, Graphic On Path, may be the best, but there is a "catch". The circle will end up "normal" to the spline. This can be rectified by selecting all the circles, then Plane by World (Ctrl+Alt+W), then Place on Workplane(Shift+Alt+W). The circles laid down on the 'plane when I tried it and retained their location along the spline.
