Cage material

I just designed a new bearing system with Acetal balls and raceways and acetal cage.  While on the web, I saw on a website that had bearings with acetal ball and raceways but with nylon cage.  Is there something about the interaction of plastic that would make nylon cages better that acetal used with acetal balls.  See attachment.

Rule of thumb: To avoid galling, it's generally best NOT to have similar materials rubbing together. Don't really know if the rule applies in your particular case, but I'd go with the nylon cage.

Where have you been?  As usual I can count on you for expert opinion.  I'll surely make a note of it.  I've got plenty of time before I send the drawings to the machine shop but I want to get all my ducks in a row now.

Thanks,
