I am trying to simulate lighting coming thru a rectangle shape glass lens shining onto the surface below, the reflection on the ground plane and red sphere should follow the the rectangle shape of the lens above.  I realize SPOT is the wrong setting, suggestions on the correct the setting would be appreciated. Hopefully I have the attached the file with my explanation.

Let's see. I moved the luminance object (sphere) up to 2000mm for starters. I'm guessing you wanted to see the edges from the glass showing on the floor below. I changed the "Cone Angle" to 45 and tweaked the "To:" setting a bit to move the circle of light towards the red sphere (& a few other settings). Rendered with Quality Raytrace Full. If rendered with Quality Full, I get jaggies in the shadow under the red ball.

EDIT: A different view using a Point luminance only.

My 2¢ to the effort,
John R.
