Inserted Excel File publishes to pdf as black

Has anyone had an issue with inserted excel files printing as black when published to a PDF?

I'm inserting an Excel 2003 format file. I've also tried insert|object|create new excel 97-2003 file with the same result. I have Office 2007 installed on this machine, but work in 2003 format.

V16 patched to 16.01.

Everything else prints fine. No issues except this.

I tried a couple of XLS and XLSX files (Insert / Object). When saved as PDF, the text was reversed in one file and I got no text in another. It appears the PDF filter has gone into the toilet.

No problems when printing to PDF.

Using pdf995 as the printer driver, I've never had a problem with this.  I do only use Excel files in paperspace, and they are always "linked" to the drawing, not copied and pasted in (paste special, as a link).

Thanks for checking. I was "printing" to a pdf file with PDFill that I've used with others versions of TC for a few years. Probably some vagary or other.
