I gather you want a Point object within a Line Style; similar to the X in the "Fence" line style shown. I doubt that is possible.

I read it as the other way around-- Wanted to be able to assign different Pen Patterns (Line Styles) to a Point Object-- Cross, Square, Circle, Star.

Seems to be a reasonable wish.  Likewise, Pen Width.

Maybe he's looking for the 20 different Points for the AutoCAD point that can be set with the $PDMode setting in TurboCAD Explorer. I have my default set to #35. I believe we're still restricted to 'one' type of AutoCAD point in a drawing.

I made a Line Style that had the Plus Point shape (saved earlier in a Shape file (shx)), but TurboCAD didn't recognize any of the 'Points' along the line; just the endpoints.

Hello everyone,

When using the commands "Hole" and/or "Rail Sweep" you need a point.
This point could serve as a center cross for circular objects.

That would be a small step for a human (programmer) but a big step for humanity (user).  ;D

That's all.  8)

I'm just talking about symbols. You can put them on a layer called "points", for example, but of course they won't be points.

They seem like two completely different, but related, Wishes.

Just thought you might want to try to clarify.

Hi there,

Quote: Just thought you might want to try to clarify.

hmm, i thought with picture it is well explained. I am happy to describe my wish again.

See Picture ->
CenterCross shows the standard execution of a hole.

In the help for drilling is written:
https://turbocaddoc.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TC2016UG/pages/43810858/Hole
Create points for each hole ...

In the help for Rail Sweep it is written:
https://turbocaddoc.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TC2016UG/pages/43811332/Rail+Sweep
... the path and the profile you will need a base point ...

Therefore I would like a POINT with the appearance of a center cross.

I think the easiest way is to move the "Cross" point to the top of the Point Tools flyout. Open the "Tools / Customize" dialog, then click-n-hold the Point tools flyout. Grab the Cross point tool and move it to the top-left position. Back in the "Customize" dialog, update your custom configuration or create a custom configuration in the "Save In" section. The Cross will now be the default Point tool that you'll see on the "Drawing Tools" toolbar.

Hello John R.,

my tool settings are already like in your picture.

Quote: They do have a Center Mark tool, but probably not what you want.

But with this CenterMark tool you cannot make a hole or a rail sweep.

In the picture below you can see how a hole according to the standard (ISO standard) must look on a drawing.

Are they standard line? For example, can we change the line length like the other lines?

You can change them in the Property, before or after insert, it  will find center of a circle automatic.
You can also use Edit tool to change size on extension afterwards in example.

Hello everyone,

here is another attempt to explain what I want.

I only wish to expand the POINT-TOOL by:
dot,
star,
square,
cross,
Point

plus

Dash-dot line

in different scales.

Hi Surkål

I never use a point on Railsweep, i change the Objects Ref point to be where i want it ( D )
On a Hole you need it, but i never do anything like that, so i dont use that tool.
We can change size on Points before inserting, but it will not show the difference in the pre-view window.
The change will then have effect on all point types, and we can change color on them before insert, when we insert or after.

The thing we cant do is linestyle, and your wish for an extra Dash-Line Style, as i see it.

Okay.   I understand; it seems like a good, reasonable, wish.  If I understand, than IMSI-Design people probably understand.

Now, they just have to decide if they want to put the time and effort into granting your wish.

Hi there

Another solution would be to expand the Point and Railsweep (and other) tools.

... select Point or CenterMark

see picture.

What do you not understand?

It's really easy.
Add a cross in the form of a dash-dot line to the tool in the selection.

That's all.
