Keyboard Shortcut for No Snap

Hi All,

I have been using the Insert Arc Tangent To Entities Command and in doing so it automatically turns on snap. Every time I use this command I never need snap and so for each point I must right click and go to No Snap. Frequently I use two points and a radius. I see in the right click snap menu that the S has an underscore under it which usually means that this S is the keyboard short cut. The short cut for this isn't S. S doesn't perform the same function as right clicking and going to no snap.

Is this intentional?

Also Between TurboCad 21 and 2019 this command function has changed slightly when entering two points and then entering a radius. I now must hit the return key twice to apply the final Arc between the entities after entering the radius. This is not a big deal but it does add a slight bit of slow down to design.

When applying Spheres on every intersection or handful of edges because the fillet command is having issues between lofts this is adding more difficulty than it did with Turbocad 21.

Try Shift+S.

The right click menu No Snap Turns off Snap until the next point is placed whereas Shift S turns off snap until Shift S is pressed again or the snap tool button is pressed.

In a situation where a mixture of snap and no snap is needed it would be better to have no snap as a key stroke until point placed rather than turning snap on and off.

In this case it is about the same to turn snap off with shift S for the duration of two clicks. In other situations it would be more desirable to have an assigned key for no snap until next point.

Can this be assigned instead Henry?

I might have a no snap, a mid point and a vertex all needing to be snapped. Using Shift S extends the number of keystrokes from 3 to 5 for one point assignment.

Have you looked at the SNAP button just below Inspector Bar, rigth click on on it and set up what snaps you want to have there.
You can also og to Tools/ Customize >> Keybord and find all the shortcut's TC have and/ or make new ones to your like, TC will warn you if it's already in use.

Hi Torfinn,

I am having issues in TC2019 with it loading my workspace. I previously opened and saved my TC21 workspace and it can load from within TC2019 but when it tries to load it on startup it gives an error. The side menu that has the all the slide out panes in it stopped working and I found it but then it didn't slide out again. This has not been a good upgrade.

For snap I cannot assign button to temporarily turn snap off to click where I need to and have it turn it back on automatically.

And every time I restart TC I get the same errors over that I have to select not to display.

When the Workspace is to your like, remember to save it in Customize/ Options and with a new name, save the drawing and TC will remember it next time.
Maybe there are somthing with the v 21 cfg TC dont like at all, then maybe remake it from scrathc and save.
Palette area, move the cursor next to the pin and click on it so it dont are on Autohide, if it then dissapearm most likely because you click the X or drag it out to the rigth , just go to Customize/ Palletes and check it again and it will come back the way you saved it in your cfg (UI)

Edit : BTW why not just turn all snaps off and use SEKE's instead ??

Thanks Torfinn

I will remake the workspace.

How do I get other parameters of the workspace that do not save including background color to save?

The other stuff in cfg should save to when save cfg.
Are you using new from scratch when open a new drawing, or a template ??

I have been opening existing drawing. When I open existing drawing it does load the workspace.

It does not load back ground color or The Tool Frame Sizes. The select objects bar is not maintaining the check boxes I set either.

Quick reminder - Shortcut "s" No Snap is case sensitive. Make sure CAPSLOCK is off.
