Blued Out
Read 1039 times

In TC 2019 I'm getting the information at the bottom of the desktop blued out and I don't know why.  It includes Snap, Geo.  How do I fix that?

Thanks,

John B.

I guess you are running on Windows 10 1809 64-bit. You need to run the software in Windows 7/8 compatibility mode.

Frederick Lm,

I would have never guessed!  I right clicked the TC 2019 shortcut, and in properties I ran the compatibility test, and then changed the compatibility to Windows 8.  I thought I was in big trouble after I had to use the serial number from way back to TC v12.5.  It's a newly install.

Thanks a lot,

John B.

Oh I didn't check your signature. That's really bad that problem exists in Windows 7

I am running Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit.  I finally got it up and running.

P.S.  I've updated my signature.

Given that TC v2019 is only just released.  I would suggest you send in a report to IMSI support, if you have not already done so.    TC windows support page

I've got 2019 working OK and if others have issues then Support will take over.  Mine might be just an isolated incident.  Working on Windows 8 compatibility doesn't hurt anything.

Hi, I met with this -> I did make update another software and he needed Visual C++2017 version.
I did uninstall Visual C++2017 , reinstall TC and everything is back to normal.

Majo,

I downloaded x64:vc.redis.x64.exe and I also inadvertently downloaded Visual Studio 2017 and after a couple of restarts and uninstalling TC 2019 it all seemed to make no difference so I set compatibility to Windows 8 and everything works fine.  I didn't have to enter the serial number of a TC version 2017 or earlier (TC v12.5) this time and I remembered how to delete the PDF splash screen.  I'm going to leave it.  It's too many hoops to jump through.

I have opened two support cases for the status bar display problem, one for TC2018 early this year, and one for TC2019 a few days ago. IMSI just closed the case without a response or reason. Feeling so bad about support.  :-\

I wouldn't worry about it as long as the program works by any means necessary.  It might be something in one's personal computer, an artifact of some kind, that's there and can't be resolved.  Mine works and that's the end of it for me.  Compatibility!

If I need to run the software in compatibility mode then something must be legacy behind the scene, I will suspend the upgrade until it is "build" for Windows 10.

I have two computers in separate rooms and 2019 runs OK on one and needs Windows 8 compatibility on the other.
Windows Update KB4493509 failed, error 0x80073712.

After a crash last week, my computer posted a notice that 2019 had a problem and that it would now be run in Windows Compatability mode (for XP, as I recall).

But I just checked the program's Properties and that is not the case.  I also saw that XP wasn't a choice in the Compatibility popup.

Solution found!  No, not a Bud Light.  I found that when I had installed Windows 10 and TC 2019 Platinum I hadn't upgraded the software for my video card and I was running with a generic video driver that produced a lot of temporary black blotches.  I went to Device Manager and updated the drivers from there but that alone wasn't good enough.  I finally got the driver upgrade directly from the AMD website and then ran TC 2019 without any compatibility other than Windows 10 and the blue was gone.  I have installed AMD Radeon Adrenalin 19.4.2 on a Radeon RX 480 Graphics card.  I hope this insight helps others.

Could you see the 'SNAP' and 'GEO' button on the status bar without running in Compatibility Mode? Sometimes on my system the status bar looks normal when resizing the Window, no blue blocks, but the 'SNAP' and 'GEO' buttons disappear unless I enable Compatibility Mode.

Everything looks good without any compatibility issue.  Look at my post in Tips and Tricks, "Pop-Up Screen View Size".  That's the closest I get.  Try and update or download the latest drivers for your video card.  Maybe that will fix.

My GPU is Quadro 2000 with latest driver installed. Without running in Compatible mode I got the status like these. When resizing the Window the status bar changing color and some weird checkbox.

Frederick,

I double checked this morning and all is well with mine.  No more blue.  I resized several times.  I'm done with the issue for now after the video upgrade but maybe there are other issues that the programmers must fix.
