Hello,
I'm unable to sweep. Simple example as on attached pic.

What am I doing wrong here?

If you want to use sweep, rotate the circle 90 about Y
Or just use the Rail Sweep.
The big circle will not be possible to use on the zigzag line i believe, it's to big comperred to the Arch.

If you need that size of radius to follow the zigzag line create single angled line between end points and the starts of the curves.
Then use "Meet 2 Lines" to join them up for an error free rail sweep path.
The Set to Crimp in the selection info.
As attached:

What is exactly meant by single angled line between end points and the starts of the curves?
I'm unable to reproduce that.

Thanks all commentators for the effort. Rotating the circle helps with line, but I'm still unable to sweep that circle around zigzag line.

I created a quick Youtube Video...

You could also explode your zigzag line, delete the curved parts and then use the Meet 2 lines tool:

Thanks for you effort.
I've made animated gif attached below. I've simply created zigzag as polyline, created a circle and tried sweep and rail sweep with crimp enabled but was unsuccessful.

Hi

You are not using the Rail Sweep Tool but the Normal Sweep (Edit you tried both sorry did not notice at first) which will not work unless you orientate the Circle as mentioned above. See attached the different Icon for the Rail Sweep tool.

You need to turn off Compound Profile for the first profile (Circle) as TC is notifying you that you are trying to select the circle and the zigzag as the profile to sweep which is not possible. You do really need Compound Profile either for the path as you have created one continuous polyline and not a series of single lines unless you want.

Edit: Forgot that if you do want the 2d profile objects to drive the sweep so if you modify the circle later on you should notice that if you have Compound Profile On that TC is asking "Specify the base point object of extrusion" before the path can be selected. For the Circle I use a 2D point (Dot, Star, Square etc) at the centre of the circle for the base point object.

Thanks, maybe some day I will understand. For now I will use other methods to achieve that.

You must have locked your other problem extrude topic so:

You need to press enter or selecting finish after typing the dimension to extrude by.  ;)

Oh I thought I did  ::)

OK when I extrude that object, there are 2 problems.
1. The object is created with only side faces extruded?
2. I can't select circle together with the object to extrude simultaneously.

EDIT
I've found the solution. There were some unconnected lines.

Ahh

You did not close the profile see attached.

Use Edit tool to close it then it should work!

Yapp, thanks. I've figured out that also and locked the topic  http://forums.turbocad.com/index.php/topic,21305.0.html (because it's solved).
