I'm thinking of upgrading from TC 18 to 2015. Just want to check something, if I buy a downloaded version of TC 2015 (32 bit) and then upgrade my Windows 7 (32 bit) to Windows 8 or even 10 (64 bit) can I upgrade TC to 64 bit online or will I have to purchase a new 64 bit version of TC 2015?

Download them both.

When you buy 2015 (or v21 for that matter) you should get both 32 and 64 bit in the download link, download both (save to hard drive) and install whichever you require, if you are upgrading the computer, best to save a backup on an external drive for safe keeping.

Obviously the standard licence agreement applies, if memory serves you can't have 32 bit on one desktop computer and  64 bit on another desktop.

Thanks Andy. Good advice.

Not sure that the forthcoming Windows 10 will upgrade from 32 bit Win7 to 64 bit.  Worth checking as 64 bit TC can handle and render much bigger files.

32 bit TC can only "see" 2GB while 64 bit can see all 16GB on my desktop.

I think that you can, the license doesn't specify that prohibition, although the two shouldn't be active concurrently.  I doubt if I'm the only person to use a Wintab as road gear and no 8" tablet that I'm aware of uses 64-bit OS.

I have heard so many horror stories about Windows 8 that I went from 32-bit Windows 7 Professional to 64-bit Windows 7 Professional.

Outside of having to use Administrator Mode to install several programs that installed easily under 32-bit, I have had no problems.

Pretty sure that you are right. The 32 bit will only upgrade to 32 bit.

It looks like a full re-install.

Just to clarify, I was actually thinking of getting a new computer in near future with Windows either 8 or 10 (both 64 bit) depending on performance of 10 etc. Just didn't want to get stuck with TC 2015 34 bit for this laptop and not be able to run on new computer. I want to go to 64 bit for better CAD performance, which going off my research is better for CAD. Correct? By the way, just purchased TC 2015....so looking forward to my new edition. Hopefully I won't be on the 'Problems' forum too much.

Thanks y'all.
