I'm looking for an "image printer" that makes PDFs. I currently use Zan Image Printer (http://www.zan1011.com/) which is very good. However, I would like more options for compressing the file.

I print at 300dpi and an 11x17 sheet will be about 400 KB. I'm looking to reduce it to 200 KB without reducing the dpi.

I do not want vector-based printing, because they can be ripped and used in CAD. It must be image-based.

Have you looked at PDF995?  You can get a free version that zaps you with ads when you use it, or you can pay them to get rid of the irritation.  I find it works very well with TCAD.
