Splitting a curve

According to the help "Split or Trim may alter a curve drastically........"

Is there any way to "Fix" a curve so that it can be divided into sections while retaining the originally drawn shape. I will not need to modify the curve any more at the time I want to do several splits.

Since the curve isn't to be modified further, there's no disadvantage to exploding it to a polyline, which won't change shape when trimmed or divided.  If scaling makes the segmentation too coarse, increasing the property "segments between adjacent control points" will smooth it.  Or split the polyline then use convert-to-curve on the splits.
