I spent weeks designing all the casting and machine from casting models for this compressor (lots of internal parts you can't see)... creating an assembly... etc. Wasn't much to do to the actual assembly to get ready for rendering other than remove internal components, attach remaining Xrefs and exploding the blocks.

Took about a half an hour to assign materials, draw up a quick table for it to sit on, and render. The render is more for showing off the unit more so than trying to show my lack of rendering skills. Wish I could show the inside... lots of cool stuff... but can't due to confidentiality agreement.

An excellent design and render Greg, my only comment is from a service point of view, those sharp corners on the motor channel support base, and the endplate on the compressor need the sharp corners taken off like the rest of the model. The maintenance fitters will thank you for it!.

Great job Greg.

It is nice to see you post some work.

Thanks guys.

Michael... corners have a 1mm radius.

Don... I'm not that fond of rendering. I enjoy the design and creating of the models much more... so that's why I don't post much work. Done 134 different compressors/expanders since 2000... still get excited each time a do one.

Gaz... just wish you could see the inside... lots a cool stuff.  :D

Thanks.

Slap on the hand for me Greg.

Not at all.

In comparison... the radii on the other end of the cover is 85mm... would be hard to see the 1mm radii in the render.

Superb, Greg!

I'd have loved to have seen the internals, but the exterior is very impressive.

Compared to most... really lacking in rendering skills.

Thanks though  :)

Great detail , as for the lack of rendering skills “don’t think so “.
Ever thought of doing the case in glass , we could see in side then

great model! I would love to see it sliced in half so that we could see the internal elements.

Thanks, Hammer.

As I've mentioned.. can't show the inside... confidentiality agreement.

I may have to check with my client and see if there is someway to show the internals without breaking that agreement. I did one for my client a few years ago that was shown in Machine Design magazine... ugliest render I ever did see... can't believe that is what they wanted me to create. It didn't show a whole lot anyway... they get very nervous when too much is shown.
