How to reset an object's rotation shell/extents?

I have a simple 2D rectangle that's not in alignment with its shell selector and extents. Its rotated about 20 degrees inside the selector. Maybe I shouldn't be worrying about such a trivial thing, but I would like to know if there is a way to permanently turn the object's axis to align with the object. In other words, I don't want to just move the rotation arm temporarily (like with ctl-click), but to "fix" the axis so that it would be always in the direction indicated and so the selector shell would fit the rectangle. When I try moving the axis arm, it always reverts once I click on some other object.

Thanks,
armk

I don't think there is any way to get a 2D bounding box to remain in the rotated position. If you work in 3D mode, the bounding box rotation is retained, but you create workplane related problems when you rotate your 2D object.

Thanks for clarifying the situation, John.

You can work in the 3D Selector Mode, setting Extents CS to "Entity CS" and Coordinate System to "Extents CS."
