Archemedies spiral on a spline surface

Using TurboCAD 18:

Looking out the passenger window I recall seeing GE jet engines having their rotation indicator fixed on a central hub a good idea - even if taken from an ME 109 some 90 years ago, moreover how could you best apply that task to TurboCAD today?

One thought comes to mind; 3D Intersect tool.

Extrude a 2D Archimedes spiral the height of the cone on the propeller.
It would be a good idea to make an Offset of the spiral and place lines to close the ends.
This will give you a wider solid to use and not a thin "line".
Place the extrusion over the cone.
Make a copy of both objects and move the copy a known distance off to the side.
3D Subtract the spiral from the cone in one copy.
3D Intersect the other copy.
Move the intersect result back to the subtraction, to fill the ‘hole’.
Change the color/material of the intersect part.
"Group" the two objects, don't 3D Add.

Yup.

You can Shell the extruded spiral; no need to Offset a copy. Also, the 3D Intersect tool provides a "Keep Original" option which makes it unnecessary to copy the 3D objects and move them around.

The only reason I move a set is so I don't pick the wrong object when they're on top of each other.

I don't think he's using TurboCAD 2018, that introduced the Isolation tools.

Thanks guys, even if the tip speed is more than I’d like, model airplanes normally operate 10K -22K RPM and that’s excessive for nosecone spirals to be visually affective and would be just a blur after seeing some videos off the Net.
