I have a drawing where objects that are no longer in the drawing appear in hidden line rendering and can not be selected or removed.

This program has just wasted hours of my work.  I had to select the real objects and put them in a new drawing. Now I have re do all my paper spaces and re dimension again.

look at model space and put on hidden line render and see part appear that should not be there.

Im not happy.

Open your drawing in v 2018 PP and did not see any problems at all, there was 6 different "Groups" of objects in it, nothing change from Native  to Hidden line and back again.
I use Native Draw = GDI and flicker free as i dont have RedSDK installed in v 2018

Did you try to close TC down and restart/ open the drawing again ??, as TC like to keep memory if he get it :)

ill give it a try … I use GDI too.

That worked thanks.   This program drives me nutz.   I want to be a beta tester again.

I was a beta tester from v7 to v16.2

I was able to replicate the ghosts in your drawing.  Several elements in black lines and one in color.  They only appeared in hidden line view in model space and not in wireframe or quality rendering.  When I started to move things around and look at their behavior, they disappeared and I could not get them back.  I downloaded the file several more times and restarted TC to no avail.  I could not find them again.

Brian I had a similar issued with an object that was selected as a parttree part modified and then I used breakapart to convert it to an acis object, then the bounding box became visible with no object/part within. Thete was most likely other actions on this part/acis object that I performed, this happened about 2 weeks ago.

Honestly I cant remember how I got rid if the empty bounding box, but it did go away.

I suggest you attempt to verify what the original object was by getting all known entities separated and into a new drawing and then identify the likely culprit. Make a backup 1st.

If this is not feasible then can you selectively hide one object at a time via layers and confirm in hidden line render. Your attachent was deleted can you repost?
