Power Stretch Acts Like Move??

Using TC  2018, Deluxe.  I have a 3d box (simple extrude) that I want to change  dimensions slightly.  I tried Power Stretch.  Follow prompts:  Select Object, Select Base Point & Select destination.  Works perfectly, except moves the entire box the specified distance instead of stretching it.

Am I not understanding the concept of "stretch," or doing something wrong?

You can change just the "Height" of an extrusion in the Selection Info palette. If you want to change the "Width" or "Length" of the extrusion, I think you need to Explode the object until it says "TC Surface" in the Selection Info palette, then use the "Edit Tool" to drag a selection window over the nodes you want to move and enter a value in one of the Delta fields.

If you take the "basepolyline" and stretch that one, selecting the parts of it that you want the extrude will follow in X and Y directions and like John say Heigth will take of the Z direction

I was wrong on the type of box - I is a TC Surface.  Anyways, I ended up using the edit tool to show the nodes and then used the "Shift-Select" to grab the nodes for each surface and the x-y-z positions to re-locate each face right where desired.

So, does Power Stretch only work on 2d objects?

After doing some experimenting I appears that neither Stretch nor Power Stretch do any actual stretching in my TC 2018.  As I noted, Power Stretch makes a pretty good move tool.  Stretch doesn't seem to d much of anything.

If I simply select the box using the Edit tool I get some nice triangular handles on each surface that drag and stretch nicely.  Not sure why my version even shows a Stretch and Power Stretch command.

I dont think this tools are ment to be working in Deluxe and 3D, if i only have 3D Objects in drawing they are greyed out and by that it's a 2D tool there
I dont have Deluxe in 2018 so i tested in 2018 PP assuming this was some standard tools, well that seems to be wrong, as i open 2019 Deluxe and i get same result as you, sort of a "nice" 3D Object mover and thats it, but work on 2D objects
