Well done.  The highlights don't look washed out and the darker areas look like what you'd get in a photograph.

What a great looking little radio Don. Is there a story behind this one?

Thanks Guys,

WD, Brad,

I don't own this radio. I just came across an image of it when I was looking for something else and thought that it looked pretty cool. So I decided to draw it and I did some research to find other images and dimensions. So no real story behind it.

Thanks Steve.

I did the initial layout (less text) of the dial in TurboCAD then saved in svg format which I opened in Illustrator. There I added the text to circular paths.

The lighting is just simple directional and ambient luminance. The reflections come from Ray cubed environment using an HDR image.

Hi Don, another first class render from you.
A lot of good work in the gallery at the moment.

Really great work. I used to have one of those (original version, not one of the revamped copies), but had to throw it out last year following a house fire. No real loss, it didn't work very well; still have an old Roberts radio that works great.
