Once in a great while someone wants my cad file to be converted to a dwg file., and as usual the file is corrupted and can't be converted over. Can someone help me to convert this Tcad file to a DWG file? Can you also tell me why it is corrupted?
I have attached the Tcad f file.

Thanking you in advance.

There was 3 Blocks inside other Blocks, assume that make it crash when try converting to DWG.
Open it for 2 time, switch to Model space, selected all blocs with ctrl+T >> Block insertion, explode, repeat that one more time and find the last 3, exploded them aswell, save as dwg no problem, open in Autodesk True Viewer 2017, no problem
The dwg become 19 Mb, try'd to zip, but was still to big for upload about 16 Mb.

So try that, if it dont work out, let us know, and i can upload to Dropbox if needed, i'm lazy so i want you to try first :)

Thank you,]but it didn't work for me.
why did you know it was the blocks???

I exploded all blocks in model space, and also in paper space I exploded the 2 logos.
I did edit, select by,entity type, block insertion, format , explode. did it several times until there was no blocks coming up.
So why didn't it work for me?

i did not know it, i go to M Space, Select all and everything looks normal, but had some Blocks i could see in Selection Info palette, so try'd that, then Select by Enterty type ( ctrl + t), choose Block insertionm ok out and explode ( alt+shift+e), un/ reselect same way and find 3 Blocks more to explode, after explode save as dwg, make sure the last checkbox in setup was not checked and saved to dwg.

Ooh, I did change name on it first when i download it, maybe that was the culpit as there was () in the filename.

I did something different.

Upon review, I noticed several of the Printer Paper sizes in the Paper spaces were A-size Portrait, which did not match the Drawing Sheet Size (B-size Landscape).

I made them all consistent, then Saved As TCW (with an extra pair of parentheses in the file name), then Saved Copy As DWG (using the default 2007/2009 version).

I then opened the file with AutoCAD TrueView and saw no problems.  I have attached a (re-sized) screen capture of Paper space 6 because the resulting DWG file is just too large.

I left the Block definitions unchanged.

So why didn't it work for me?

Maybe version specific.  Are you using TC v16.  (old version not 2016).

No that didn't work I have had this problem with 16.2 before. I have spent enough time on this.

What I need to solve my problem is someone to send me this file in a DWG format.
PLEASE

Thank you very much, I hope this does it.
I have had this DWG conversion problem many times , sometimes it works with no problems  but most of the time it doesn't.

Then i think you should use some time to see/ figure out what you do that make it happen, so it not happens again in the future ;);)
And you have at least 1 frustration less to deal with :)

Did you mean to say that you fixed the Page Size definitions in each Paper Space?  Because that should have done it.

A test of converting your file

Using TC21 Deluxe on Win 8.1
Original TC file = 3.639 mb <<(4mb)
Convert to DWG 2000 = 76.316mb <<(76mb)
Convert to DXF 2000 = 12.732mb <<(13mb)

All files converted nicely ... and opened fine.
Strangely ... in my experience, DXF files are generally MB larger than DWG ... but in your case, it is smaller.  ;)

Conclusion is >>
Try converting to DXF >> All CAD systems can open it, and it is acceptable as DWG.
Download TC21 DELUXE >> or other >> TC2019 DELUXE and use it as a trouble shooter of any further issues with TC16

Cheers
Mike

I did try converting it to DXF and it didn't work.  When you say downloading TC21 deluxe, is that free or you have to buy it. Because if I have 16 pro why wold I want the deluxe version?  My pro should work.

I would test Designer 2019.
For 2D work, it might be all you need.

Converted tcw file to dwg in designer 2017 worked ok.
> Sometimes multi text doesn't quite make it to dwg perfectly.
> There was a scale issue to dwg with the paperspace logo block

Explode the block once (thick polyline) and then the logo block once in all paperspace
Saved as dwg, I always save in 2000 or R14 so there's never any compatibility issues.

opened dwg in autocad, it looked ok, some minor offset issues with multi text.
