Can Lights

I've been messing with this without much luck so far. Is there a way to create an actual can light. My thought is to create a hollow cylinder and put a light inside of it and place them in the ceiling throughout the house to try to recreate the type of lighting that real can lights produce.

That'll work. Be sure the cylinder has an open end. I used a Point light to create the attached screenshot.

I had to have a look on google what a can light was   :) .  The attached uses luminance inside of each can.  It uses RedSDK, but luminance is available in lightworks.

I've no idea if this is the kind of thing you were looking for, in fact the one I looked at was made from baked bean cans. but it was fun having a play.

Thank you! Both of those are the look that I'm looking for. I was also just looking at Don Cheke's video that Darryl posted. Don does some pretty beautiful work. I'm going to watch that entire video this morning. I've always done 2d working drawings but am as intrigued by this 3d thing as I've ever been about anything, now that I have made the leap. Thank you guys for your time!
