is anyone else having limited success in getting help that truly is helpful, in TC16ProPlat.

I have used TC since before 10 and at least the manual you can understand .. but I am finding that I waste more time looking for help  and getting frustrated and not doing what I want to do with TC16..... not good for TC16

If anyone has found a good workaround for this .. please provide some direction .. as I have very little hair left... :)

if you need details, I can provide...

Don

Can  you be more specific? Also you can use the the context help with the online help.  So if you hit F1 with our cursor on any tool, you are taken directly to the proper section in the online guide.

Just ask here Don. Help comes pretty quick here on the forums and better than the manual 99% of the time. It is frustrating sometimes I know, but once you can ride the learning curve with the help of this forum you will be rocking. Still wont help with the hair loss tho. I had a full head of hair before getting sucked into TC. I now have a head with minimal hair that looks bit like a Baboons backside. :)

Is this Pro Platinum edition "Version 16" or "TurboCAD 2016"?

I like using the Context Sensitive Help command in TurboCAD.  I keep an icon of that Command on my customized Standard Toolbar.

Just activate that tool/Command, drag it over to a tool/function/feature that I have a question about, click on it, and pop!... in most cases I will be taken to the applicable section of the Help documentation.
I happen to have my Help options set to Online Help; Context Sensitive Help doesn't seem to work for Offline Help in my Version-20.

Hi Don,
try this >
> Draw a circle, File menu > Draw> Circle> Center and Point
> activate the 'simple extrude" tool, File menu > Draw>3D object> 3D profiled Based > Simple extrude
> hit F1
what happens?

re drawing a circle and then extruding it .. .then hitting F1 .. I get a totally useless HELP re PROFILES .. and that is representative of most of the HELP I am getting with the TC Plat Pro 2016 ... see attached ..

One issue I am trying to resolve is placing a single line from 2 different points (not on the same plane) in 3d ... and I cannot find anything to help .. a program setting, a model setting or just lack of what to do ...

Yes, I get the same.
Try setting "use offline help"   File menu> options> program set up >use offline help

Can you be more specific and or possibly post a simple drawing.
Drawing a 2D object is always placed on the "current workplane"

Don

To draw a "a single line from 2 different points (not on the same plane) in 3d", use the 3D Polyline Tool.  Once activated, we can use the Coordinate Fields at the bottom right to type in the locations (if we don't have something already drawn to snap to).
