50 sec for light works raytrace full. 19 min and 5 seconds for global illumination fine. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong to get render times so slow on redsdk.
If you want to get a comparison with other systems, try the benchmark file in the first post of this thread:
http://forums.turbocad.com/index.php/topic,8615.msg94205.html.
Because your window size is so large, you would get the most accurate comparison if you make the TurboCAD window fairly small for the render to screen. The true comparison comes when you Save as JPG to the same file size as the other images that were posted.
If your system compatibility with RedSDK is poor, then the time to save the image will be several minutes. My first time was 291 seconds (TCW V21, Core i5, 32-bit Win7 Pro). When I upgraded my hardware and OS (TCW V21, Core i7, 64-bit Win7 Pro), it dropped to 81 seconds.
The TCW 2015 upgrade made use of hyperthreading, so my total time dropped to 33 seconds. No change for 2016.
RedSDK does allow for the GPU to do calculations and in my first tests with other files, it sped things up immensely, but it crashed on Majo's benchmark file. I don't know why, yet.
If you really want to see how well your system can perform under Redway's RedSDK, then download the demos from
http://www.redway3d.com/home/gallery/demos/. You can display frame rates (my system typically runs around 450 fps).
