I'm using v22 Platinum with the Lightworks Plugin

I have a subject I like to model which is basically smooth metal, except for one surface which has a texture similar to a bump map. Wrapped Bump map is the closest I can find, but that won't work in this application. Any ideas and solutions please.

Do you have a picture of the real surface? Are you looking for something 'bumpy' like what is found in the "Rough" Texture?

Thanks for your reply John.
I think I've found a acceptable Material. It's Dimples instead of Bumps, but I hope the effect will appear to be correct. See attached.

Hard to say without knowing what the actual object looks like. It kind of looks like a DMT Diamond Whetstone to me. I have one gathering dust in a corner.

Actually it's the top face of a Stanley no. 71 router plane.

Okay. I never had one of those, but I've got a Stanley 13-050 that I never really mastered.

A Dimples texture would be okay for a Quality render, but won't work in a Hidden Line render. I'd be tempted to use an array of hemispheres.

I'll try that approach in the morning.
