I am including the TCW file so feel free to open it. I am not very good with TC 3D stuff. Once I learn how to create an object in 3D, it is a year before I have to use that again and my memory sometimes fails me. I want to shell a solid. For starters, I was going to try to see if I could do it using 16" shell. I select the face to remove and I get a "Can't shell this object" message. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

As an aside, if anyone has an opinion on the best (or at least good) structural system for a bandshell, PLEASE comment. Attached drawing is saved as v21.

thanks,
Michael

There's so much to learn and not much time left to learn it.

Hi Mike

It looks like you have used the Shell tool but it did not remove the face to create the opening you are wanting. If you try to shell again you will get the message as you described.

See attached edit.

To attach a file start with:

Click on Browse and navigate to the file to be attached and click open to select it.
The file name will show in the field to the right of Browse.
When complete click on Post to complete.

never mind.  It seems it is the latest TC beta version that is the culprit. I tried again using TC v20.1 and all went well.  Sorry for the confusion.
