Cannot re-specify a Viewport in 2015
Read 3075 times

Why was the Viewport functionality changed between V21 & 2015?

I can no longer select a Viewport and change (or simply refresh) the Named View.  As can be seen in the 2015 Viewport Preferences popup, the selector is greyed out.

How do I re-enable this functionality?

Jeff, Have you tried:  Un-checking "Fixed" first;  close out of Viewport Properties; re-open Viewport Properties; then see if your Views are no longer "grayed out".

TurboCAD has behaved this way for me in all versions I have used, including trialing 21.  (Then I have to go back and re-check "Fixed", and enter the desired value)

I didn't have TurboCAD open when composing my last Post.  Let me try to clean it up here.

>Un-check "Fixed" first;
>"View Name" should no longer be "grayed out";
>Click "OK" to close out of Viewport Properties;
>Re-open Viewport Properties, and click "Fixed" and enter the desired fixed value.

Again, TurboCAD has behaved this way for me in all versions I have used, including trialing 21.  -Alvin

Well, I've tried it now.   ::)  Thanks for the assist.

The thing is, I had no problem doing it ('it' being re-specifying a Viewport's Named View in a Fixed Zoom setting) with a Saved As V21 file in V21, so why did it change in 2015?

V2015 is just chock-full of improvements, Jeff. Haven't you noticed?

Are you sure it doesn't behave in version-21 the way I described Jeff?

I trialed version-21 for a while; I remember it behaving the same as all the other versions, in this regard.

Can anyone else with V21-PP substantiate this one way or the other?  (In Viewport Properties/Viewport page, with "Fixed" checked, is "View Name" names grayed-out and "locked" or not?)

Is this what you mean Alvin - from v21 PP, names are greyed out once fixed is checked

Are you in GDI mode? or the ever not so popular RedSDK

I rarely Lock the Scale setting, but I did confirm that V21 operates as you stated.

My bad.
