Anyone know how to draw one?

I tried the 3D polyline tool, could not get it to show correctly in hidden line mode though.

When you say irregular do you mean the base has uneven lengthed sides?
If you extrude a triangle with a negetive draft angle you can acheive this. (sides are all at the same angle though.)
another Idea would be to use the roof tool you can adjust the angle of each side. Then use the faces to costruct the shape you want.

Have a play with the cone tool, draw 2D base triangle and mark/draw a point where the height 'point' will be when viewed from above,  activate 3D cone tool, on the inspection bar turn on the two icons for use 2D entity and specify base height, click triangle, snap to the the 'point', type in the height.

One question though you mentioned that there are two icons for use 2D entity - I am only seeing one in my version of TC...

Oops found another problem, no matter where I place the point, it seems that the apex of the pyramid is set to the center of the triangle base.  I can't set set the facets to what ever angle I want...I can only position the apex directly over the center of the triangle base.

I am using the Point tool...

Don't know if you have sorted it by now, but the only thing I can think of is that the 'specify base for object height' became unselected if you have flash player installed see the following clip. (my program crashes saving as wmv).

Try "Shift+Tab" into the Coordinate fields,
insert X & Y coordinates, then Enter.
Tab into the "Height" field and insert a value.
Enter.

You should have your irregular Tetrahedron with the apex as specified.
