Animation Lab 5 free trial - are some features disabled?

I'm a hobby machinist. I've been experimenting with the l15 day free version of AL5 plug in with TC 17 pro running on Win 7 x64.
The only documentation I have is from the application's help file.

I'd like to change the number of intermediate frames between "key frames" to create a "smoother", more realistic animation, without having to
do it manually.    The process I followed was to record a key frame, then right clicked on the key frame in the animation lab palette, to bring up the menu
that will let me open the key frame properties dialog.  Once there, I can navigate all the tabs but all the options under "law of changing" are greyed out/unavailable.

Am I trying to do it wrong, or are these simply disabled in the limited time version?

Thanks for any help,
Bill

Hi Bill,

I see no reason why the software should be restricted, so, may I point you in the direction of the attached guide, if you don't already have this - Chapter 2.

The Laws of Changing will only apply if you are selecting a Key Frame which has preceding frames linked to it, as the Key Frame is effectively fixed.

Have a read, and get back if you are still stuck.

Regards Tim

Tim,

Thank you!!!!  I do not have the guide - only the help file.  (I had searched in the installation folder, and googled, to see if I could find any additional
documents and failed to find this guide.)

You are correct: I was making the mistake of trying to set the "laws of changing" on the first key frame, but I also tried on the subsequent key frames with no success there either.
Today, on reopening, it works perfectly.   I am good to go!

Many thanks for your help, and the AL5 Guide.

Sincerely,

Bill

Have you looked in Program Files where AnimationLab is installed? That has the PDF that Tim posted and 3 standard compiled Help files.

You should be able to access it through the Windows "Start" menu.
