Title: Stagecoach
Post by: wrkempson on April 29, 2012, 02:44:41 PM
This is a little something I have put together for fun.  I did not have access to plans so the dimensioning has a lot of guess work, but after finishing the undercarriage I discovered that my wheel base was only 2 inches off the original 90".  This drawing could produce a model, but without the historical accuracy I will leave it as an exercise and not go any further.  Thanks for looking in.

outstanding piece of modelling, as others have said there is so much detail, I do like the curved ends of the railings.

Lovely work.

Care to tell us how you got the cloth effect on the sides under the drivers seat?

Thanks to everyone for very kind remarks.

The cloth (canvass, really) effect comes from a spline on the bottom and a straight line on top.  These were lofted resulting in what I was surprised to see was a nice effect.  Then it was shelled for a bit of thickness, maybe .1 inches or so.
