Title: Personal ramjet-powered craft
Post by: The CAD man on February 01, 2012, 08:04:10 PM
After drawing up a design for a ramjet for a model aircraft, I thought; "wouldn't it be cool to own a personal ramjet-powered aircraft" and drew up this basic concept...

Looks like a lot of fun. You do the test flying though! :-)

Great job on the model and render.

What a wild looking ride. One question? Where is the seat belt? It looks like it could take off and leave you behind. Ha Great render and thanks for sharing with us. Carroll

Ha!  no, there are a couple of foot pegs under the rear wings, see them?  You lay on the tank like a drag-racing bike!

Seat belt??? You have to live life on the edge!

Thanks Brad,

As you can probably tell, the scene was lit by your Softbox software...I'm getting better at using it.  As I write I have another picture that's been rendering for over three and a half hours so far and still no end in sight!

Thank you guys for the comments...

Hi W.D., yes the figure (of me) is done with Poser 8, I haven't modelled all his clothing and hair as it would be such a waste of time merely to desmonstrate the sitting position in a non-paying project!

I think you should remove the handles and place snowboard-style boot locks on either side of the wing cowling, plus a force vector assembly similar to what the Harrier uses for vertical takeoff and hovering.

Then, find a good tailor to make a super villain outfit.   ;)
