Title: LOCAL SNAP
Post by: derick on August 10, 2009, 03:41:48 PM
This forum has been very helpfull.Need to ask one more question.
I am taking a measurements from the BASE drawing.
Let say I have a square column away from the building.Local snap tool allows me to place a first mark at the center of the face of the column.
I have problem with decoding which snap tool I should use to take a measurement to the face of the wall.In other words the  measuring line should be perpendicular to the wall. There is no vertex,or mid.point available to use.

After starting the dimension at the column, place the cursor on the face of the wall and press J on your keyboard. That's the SEKE for the "Perpendicular" snap, which will place your dimension line at 90 deg to the face of the wall.

Ok thank you Henry,I will check if by placing a cursor on the face of the wall if that's a "true" snap point or just aprx.
Thanks a lot its been long day but I got a grasp on a basic.

Result of the J snap is quite precise.
