Title: Fastest entering of cartesian coordinates?
Post by: emdo on October 27, 2010, 10:26:20 PM
Hi,  I've got a list of Cartesian coordinates from a 2D template, in the format like:

x,y
0,0
0,800
700,800
550,800

etc.

Whats the quickest way of getting those inputted?  I'm looking for a line tool with command line I guess, but can't quite see where TurboCad keeps this.

thanks

Depending on which version you have, look for the Mesh or Terrain commands.  Set Z to zero.

Thanks, I've had a look at Terrain and 3D Mesh.. but its not really for just drawing a 2D object.

I'm trying to create a 2D object for a CNC cutter, and my templaters just produce a list of Cartesian coordinates.

Is there no way of just keying in the coordinates one after another, like in Autocad ?

Thanks for any help.

If you're drawing a polyline manually from coords, click on the start point, then tab into the inspector bar boxes, enter x coord, then tab to shift between them, then y coord, then enter, tab again, more coords, enter, tab again etc.  Use of the tab key is the difference between an AC command line sequence.
