Title: Error on opening tcw file
Post by: tarmiricmi on August 08, 2017, 02:13:25 AM
Hi,
when I open any TC supported file from windows explorer, TC displays error in the attachment.

Program then loads itself and everything is OK, but I'm wondering why this warning at all?

I could reinstall TC but I'm not keen to do that just because of this. Is this known error?

Hi tarmiricmi,

This usually happens when you try to open the file from windows explorer.
To avoid this error open TurboCAD and use File-> Open, for opening file. There is no need of reinstalling TurboCAD.

I get this with Windows 10 and I reinstall TC whenever IMSI release a new update/patch (6 times with v2016), the only programs I trust windows explorer to open properly are notepad, picture viewer and video files (and it sometimes gets video wrong) all other programs I open the program first then go to file - open.

This is a long-lived bug (but I don't remember it in V15).

No program should have a problem when a file's extension references it.  I've got 18 year old electrical CAD software (Protel 99SE) that opens just fine when I double-click on a schematic data file.

Luckily this isn't a serious issue.
Thanks for the opinions.
