Title: join splines
Post by: vgsbart on June 26, 2017, 01:05:12 PM
I have TurboCAD 2016 Designer 32-bit and want to use fill for an area enclose by a couple splines.  They were created using "Draw/Curve/Control Points".  I can group them but they aren't joined and thus fill won't work.

I don't have Designer, but what I would do is put each Spline in Edit mode so that I can see the Control Points.  After exiting Edit mode, I would then put Points (using the Vertex Snap function) at each of the Control Points.

From there, I would draw a new Spline hitting all the Points and be sure to Close to end drawing.

Select the group and press Ctrl+Shift+H. They don't have to be joined for that command to work. If you don't like the solid black fill that probably appears, click on the fill and then right-click to open the Local Menu. Select "Properties," go to the "Brush" page, and fiddle with the various options.

You could use the Pick Point Hatching tool/command.  As long as the endpoints of the splines actually touch, thereby creating a closed area to create the Hatching.  The 2016 Comparison Chart on the Wiki shows Designer having that tool/command.
