Title: Will this doublecad drawing extrude in TC?
Post by: nadsab on November 15, 2012, 03:32:28 PM
Hi,

I tried doing a simple extrude on this and could not get it to work.  It's a drawing I did in Doublecad 3 months ago and opened and converted it to TC Deluxe 19.

Is it possible to extrude this?  I'm trying to make it an inch thick...

I tried converting it to a block and when I did that the drawing dis appeared...

They're all separate objects. Go to "Modify / Join Polyline" and click on one of the lines. This will convert those objects to a single polyline. This you can use as an extrusion profile.

re: Block disappeared
The selection was moved into the Blocks palette. A Block in TurboCAD is just an internal Symbol, so I'm not sure what that will do for you in this case.

I remember from AC seeming-millenia back that creating a block caused the objects to disappear in model space.  The command "oops" causedthem to reappear, with the block available from that point.  TC behaves the same way.  Creating a block makes the bits vanish, undo/ctrl  + Z reappears them, with the block available in the palette.
Compound profile enabled lets this profile extrude, without joining as pline.

re: Compound profile enabled lets this profile extrude, without joining as pline.

"Use Compound Profile" is only available for Simple Extrude in the Pro editions, not Deluxe.
