Title: Wedding Box Update
Post by: Dave C on October 31, 2012, 02:14:24 PM
Hi all.
Here is the wedding box all nicely welded together.

Design by me.
DXF drawings for the laser by me.
Assembly, welding and polishing by the groom.

The bride is over the moon with it.
The wedding is this Saturday.

I was asked to put roses into the design but I am not very good with organic shapes so I gave up on those.

Marvelous. Outstanding craftsmanship. What is the material? What welding technique was used?

Beautiful work Dave.

Did you save the 'Heart' cutouts? Tack weld them with a wire stem and you have a Rose from the Heart ..

Thanks for the comments guys.
The box was made from 1.2mm Stainless Steel.
Tig welded together, then the welds were flattened and polished.

Excellent idea Jack but he wanted cutouts.
Nice bit of photoshop editing there.

Thanks Don.

The box was a real hit at the wedding yesterday.
The happy couple plan to keep the box forever.

Next task is to design a lighting system to fit inside it for them.
