It’s been a while since I had some fun with TC. Our 4 yr old is just getting into dinosaurs and his interest in a recent promotion by our local newspaper reminded me of Marian Jurcak’s marvellous Ceratopsier a few months ago.
This $2 plywood jigsaw came with a dinosaur fact book and assembly instructions which I scanned and imported into TC, then spent way too much time editing traced nodes, playing with materials and changing lighting.
End result isn’t quite what I aimed for but I’m happy with it. My boy thinks I’m great.

I also did a short video of it here http://forums.turbocad.com/index.php/topic,4769.0.html

Tom & WD, I really appreciate your comments, thanks. Most time involved editing the nodes created by TC's trace function, making sure all the separate lines generated actually joined each other (so they could be compound profile extruded).

Thanks Steve
...and you made everything fit...
It was far easier on the PC than that damn wooden model!

I've had another play with the animation, the one below is low quality version, I've posted a bigger & better one in the Animation Lab gallery http://forums.turbocad.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=4769.0;attach=10360

Julian,

could you point me to any tutorials or documentation that would help me get started doing this sort of thing?  I want to take some 2D drawings for laser cut parts and "test assemble" them like you've done with this jigasaur.  Thanks.
