I to find out how I scale text on an architectural drawing @ 1:100 scale. At the moment the text is so small it can't be read.

If it's normal text, select it, then type in a new Font Size in the Property toolbar.

If it's text in a Dimension, increase "Dimension Size Scale" in the Properties Dialog (Format page). This will keep all the components in a dimension at the proper proportions.

Thank you for the help.

But I am still having a problem with text that is not in the dimension toolbar, e.g. Plain text written in the drawing, there is no place to scale the text

You first select the text with the usual Select tool, then right-click, choose Properties..., then choose Text. You can then set the required font, size, and colour of the text.

If you pick the Text tool and do the above procedure you can change the default settings for any subsequent text writing.
