can someone explain
workspace>workplane
the 8 or so items in workplane menu?

i do see turbocad starts up in
'drawing 1 world plan up' top in turbocad

somewhat is right.
i'll just say this for the sake of clear communication.
i learned with Generic Cadd 6.
the manual with tutorials was TOP NOTCH!
there's something to be said for manuals
you can rely on.
ones without a lot of errors or deadends, and unfinished explanations in them.
they give you confidence and good will towards product.
i can still draw great walls from those tutorials :)

The 3D course actually does an excellent job of taking you through workplanes and projections onto a plane.

will
the second time i looked at your post i got it.
it's more useful for 3d work which i stay away from for now
here's wiki info that helped, too.
'A workplane is the plane on which 2D objects are created, and on which most 3D objects are based. In 2D, you always work on the same workplane - the XY plane of the current UCS.'
no i won't be dragged into UCS at this point thank you.
