"copy in place" tool in Win7

I've just installed TC 16.2 Plat into a new Win7 Ult 64-bit system. I thought I remembered how to install the Copy in Place tool that I'd been using on my old XP Pro system, but I must have forgotten something, 'cos I can't get it working.
I copied the BCiTool_GM.dll and viewsucs.dll files from the Draggers folder of the old system into the Program Files(x86)\IMSIDesign\TCWP16\Program\Draggers folder of the Win7 system, but it doesn't work.
What have I missed?

I certainly hope so - it's one of my favourite tools and gets used very frequently.

I have both installed on a 64bit Win7 system with v16.2, and have not had any problems.

As for a solution... I have no idea... sorry.

Did you do anything different, or in addition, to what I described in my first post?

No... that's all I did.

Are you running TurboCAD with full permission/administrator rights? That may make a difference... not sure. I am using the Standard UI... not sure if that makes a difference either.

I have just got mine working, but I did use the shotgun approach.

Copied "MSVBVM50.DLL" & BCiTool_GM.dll to both the Program and Draggers directories. Upon TC restart, it worked.

I've done that too, but still no joy.
Since moving to Win7 Ult I've noticed another unwelcome oddity; I carefully set dimension properties to a size, colour etc that suits, but after restarting TC the colour is all set to By block, and arrow and text sizes are set to 0.25mm.
Do you think there might be a connection somewhere?

It could still be related to not having full permission somehow. If you don't have full permission, Windows is not going to allow your TC settings to be saved. Try running TC as Administrator, and see if that helps, and also make sure you have full permission or administrator permission for each of the folders that TC created... User, User Data... etc.

Worth a shot.

Perhaps remove the copy of the MSVBVM50.DLL from draggers folder as it was directed only to the program folder. Maybe having it in both places causes a conflict.

If all else fail, see this thread where I posted an early copy of the new tool, that Kevan Chapman said could be shared. http://forums.turbocad.com/index.php/topic,3063.msg16861.html#msg16861

A simple workaround is to select and hit the linear copy button outside the drawing window, tab and enter.  When the cursor's on the frame outside the drawing window, the data boxes are 0,0,0, ie no translation.  Not a one-button workaround, but a simple sequence.  All versions, and all OSs that I've had.

I checked the referenced post and, being a little concerned about the parenthesised No Group, decided to check the Tools|Customise menu where I found two entries for Copy Entities in the Edit group. The second group contained a single entry: In Place, which contained the red square icon. I tried dragging it to the toolbar, but it wasn't allowed, but it was allowed to be dragged to the Copy Entities group, where it works as it should.
Now, I don't remember having to do this under XP, but I think I remember that the icon was by itself on the toolbar - not part of another group.
Am I mistaken? was it always part of the Copy Entities group, and if not, any ideas how to put it in a group by itself?
