Paul, thanks for the compliment.
I was looking for slow motion & high detail so settled on the following settings:
Frame format: 800x450 BMP (same as 16:9 widescreen)
Movie format: 800x450 AVI,
Frames/sec: 25 (per PAL standard)
No of Frames: 360
I deliberately wanted an uncompressed AVI, and output file was 380MB. MediaPlayer struggles with the high bitrate but at least you're guaranteed no artifacts in your new source file.
I prefer other software for video compression, and for the animation posted used the following:
Format: MP4 (AVC/H264)
Frame size: I thought it was same 800x450, but reopening it, the defaults are 480x272 so...?
Obviously, compressing a file 380:1 you'd expect some degradation but I'm pleasantly surprised at the result - to my eyes I'd assume the final file is 1/4 the quality of the source.
Oh...and it took about 2½ hours to render, and 11secs to convert
