Version 18 - Memory issues - Crashing

Hello
Just purchased and installed V18 Platinum and I have the dreaded memory issue on advanced rendering trying to save to file.....
I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit , Intel Core i7 CPU, 8GB ram, NVIDIA Quadro FX 2800M Graphics.
Crash dialog is better when crash occurs in render window but fails to show on saving as a Jpeg?
This is a brand new top spec Levovo W701 Laptop.......should I really be getting memory problems with it?

Regards
Daz

I just retested this with a few files. There is no problem in general, however as I tested models were increasingly more complex I ran into issues with JPG and BMP.

PNG continued to work.   In fact I prefer PNG they are higher fidelity and generally much smaller than a BMP (in actually file size).   If you can post or email the file you are working with we can test it for you and better provide you advice on what settings you should try adjusting.

Hi Dave
It is a little complex the file i have tested with the new version.
It's that kitchen design that you have requested to use in marketing. No problems in 17.2 like this.
What settings in Advanced Rendering the likely cause?......the speed is a major leap i have noticed......using all my 8 threads........previously, in 17.2, nothing would happen as the processing was to slow to use some of the higher settings. But, not much good if i can't save the render!
I have noticed that the settings for render setup from 17.2 to 18 have changed, the ambient occlusion must be different.
is this due to the new lightworks engine?

Obviously if it rendered in 17.2 it should render in v18.   However keep in mind that we updated the LW rendering engine itself which can introduce some new variables and settings to check.  This is why seeing the file would help us to advise you.

By the way here are a couple files output as jpg and png...so i know that is not the issue.  Ironically the PNG created a larger in this case...I don't find that to be the case usually.

Hi Dave,
Something I have noticed after experimenting last night, doing a full screen render (using the standard renderer) using all 8 threads did crash TC, reducing to 4 threads the render completed......
I would send the file in question but xrefs and textures would be quite long-winded to relocate etc...
The memory side of things.......is there any way to allocate more memory for TC to use??......Virtual or ram?

Is a 64 Bit version being worked on?
If so, how far off is it?
