After studying and never done it before Don Cheke’s egg and text model and not knowing all the tool commands involved in processing the sample image text to conform to the surface of the sphere. I eventually figure it out in the enclosed images.

Many thanks for sharing your technique Don

Beautiful renders WD. I especially like "The Blue Moon-1". Did you use a foreground medium to get the light rays? It looks great.

These look great W.D. The aurora on Blue Moon 1 sure adds a nice effect. I am curious how you achieved that result.

Those are very pretty compositions WD, and the wrapping is quite good.

In both images samples they are images I loaded in Environment Palette the moon is also image wrap that I tweaked in Paint. Net which was a black & white that I made blue to get the look.

The text I used the Brass Lacquer sample from the Material Palette. To explain how I did the text to conform to sphere is lengthy tutorial in itself. The shadow on the sphere that's TC I got lucky on that.It wasn't my doing. Actually when I made this was considering a new avatar for the the forum. But after thinking about it going with something more basic. All done with V11.2.

Thanks Guys
W.D.

EDIT: In enclose wire frame mode is the attach layout I used to do the text

I haven't seen such an "orb of night" in a 'blue moon'
