Layers Dialogue scroll niggle to create new layer

When the dialogue window is full, there is a niggle issue needing to scroll to see the new layer being created. When creating several new layers this is frustrating. Would also be nice to save an existing layer as a new layer, just changing a letter, number and perhaps color. Be much better if could control layers from a dialogue window which behaves more like a spreadsheet.

Have you tried using "Open as a separate palette" for Layers in Design Director? This will give you access to 10-15 more layers. Most everything found in the Layers dialog can now be found in the Layers palette for V16.1. You can also "Save" layers to a file, then "Load" them in another drawing. This might save you from creating the same layers over-n-over; just Load them. A thought.

Thanks John. I like the load suggestion. Sometimes even design director gets filled!

How about the Design Director and the Layers palette side-by-side? This give me access to 100 layers at once. One of the perks to having multiple monitors.

I rotated the right monitor today to portrait (1200w×1920h) and that gives me access to just over 100 Layers in one column. It also makes working with the Styles Manager a little more bearable.
