Default text sizing in pull down menu

Properties/Text/Height/  (v14.2) Can I delete these default sizes that always show up in the pull down - 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", and 1"?  I never use those sizes and would like only the sizes that I insert on a regular bases in the pull down.  Everytime I do add a size, that size if deleted the next time I try to add another.  Anyplace I can reset the defaults?

Go to the TC Explorer pallet, go to settings, font sizes, and you can edit them there.

sorry, I don't have any suggestions.  I usually add sizes to those that are already there.

Not sure about this, but you may have to close TCad and then reopen before the new sizes become available.

re: Tried that, this is what I still have...

Try switching back-n-forth between Modelspace and a Paperspace after you've made your changes. Changes in TCExplorer needs something to force it to update; switching 'spaces, starting a new drawing or restarting the program.

I tried to reboot the computer and TC.  I have never been able to add font sizes to this menu that would remain in the menu after a reboot.  TC only allows me one different size than the 4 defaults.  What am I missing?  Do these default sizes show up on your program and how do you deal with it?

FOUR defaults? I have 21. Maybe your installation is flawed. If you'd like to try to fix it, run the installer again and choose the "Repair" option. Be aware this process might wipe out some of your custom settings.

No problems here. Do you have Text Units set to inches in Paperspace? Attached is what I have in V14.

I fiddled with this a bit more and I could delete the values that were less than "1", restart TC and the deleted values didn't come back. It may be the way you're entering the numbers that is causing the problem. I would use 9,18 instead of 9.00,18.0.

Thanks John, looks like I'll have to split my stimulus money with you.  I had Paper space text units set to pt and format set to Decimal, which, in v14, left the Model space units box dead.  I went back and redid to verify and the same problem came back in Model space.

I probably should read the instruction manual before operating the equipment, since I only read the book once in 12 years.  Unless I missed it, TC should make mention of that in the help pull down menu, just for us old newbies.

Hey Don, I activated my copy of 15.2, hoping it's closer to 16.  I started over with a new drawing.  As per your picture: I can't get Drawing setup/space units/text units/ box to light up in Model space, with Format is set to arch..  I have Paper space Unit/Format set to in/arch.  That option should be available, correct?

Also, I can enter either 6,7,9, etc vs 6.0, 7.50, etc.  TC is ok with either format, as 7.5 will translate to 7 1/2".  Thank you.

"Text Units" has never been available in Modelspace, just Paperspace. I sometimes wish they would make it available, but I gave up using Points (pt) in Paperspace long ago and work with inches (or mm) for everything. If something needs to be a specific point size, I'll enter the number with "pt" after it; TC will convert it into the proper units being used.
