Two, as it was last year.

Most things will be similar to last year, although this year we are going to allow Animation Lab entries, since we will have Animation Lab as one of our prizes, thanks to a generous contribution by SoftDev.

I don't want to give away too many details just yet, but you would be safe following last years guidelines to help get you started on your entries for this year.

Hi Don,

Just wondering if the final render must be created in TC as well? I know the rules state the the model must be 100% created in TC but not sure if this mean the render too? I noticed that one of last years winners created their render in Lightworks Artisan so am a bit confused.

Is it ok to render in other 3rd party rendering software, if the model was 100% created in TC?

Thanks
Charles

I am not aware of anything from last year that wasn't rendered in TurboCAD. If there was something that slipped by then I am sorry about that as it should not have been.

For this challenge the model must be created and rendered in TurboCAD.

When all the entries are posted Don, get yourself a couple of glasses of scotch whisky and unwind, as I am sure you are burning the midnight oil while the Challenge is on. Good Luck with your Lightworks entry also Don.

Ah, dang, I missed it !  Meant to enter something, but I've been concentrating on another contest, and just plain forgot.
I also meant to enter this quarter's Lightworks competition, too.  Haha, I can imagine Doc's words in Back to the Future,  when he discovered a Marty/Dad paradox (I think ??) saying "Damn! Damn Damn !"   There's some really nice stuff on the participant's page - is that the entries ?  "SWORDS" was my favorite.  I didn't see where to vote.

About this other contest though, it's the Create The Future Design Contest, and I had an idea to develop and submit.  Oddly enough, no CAD or rendering was required.  Take a look:
 http://contest.techbriefs.com/sustainable-technologies-2010/765-save-energy-eliminate-910ths-gasoline-pricing

Thanks for what it took to make the contest possible, Don.

Please help me Congratulate the Winners of the 2010 TurboCAD Challenge .

First Prize goes to Josh Tschirhart for his SA-5...The Business End entry.

Second Prize goes to Jim Oler for his Gate Valve entry.

Third Prize goes to Armando Rodriguez for his Troquel (Die) entry.

Please have a look at the TurboCAD Challenge Winner's Gallery.

The prize winners have now been contacted via email and asked to select one of the three IMSI/Design prizes and the five Textual Creations tutorial that they desire. Their names will also be emailed to the other prize donors who will take care of supplying their contributions.

Thanks goes to all of you who participated in the 2010 TurboCAD Challenge by submitting an entry. In the eyes of your TurboCAD peers, you are all winners in every sense of the word. Please know that everyone received votes and in many cases it was a very close race.

Thanks also goes to those who participated in this year's challenge by taking time to view the many entries and by taking time to cast a vote.

Special thanks goes to IMSI/Design, SoftDev, Milan Spinar, Brad Easterday & Jerry Simington for donating prizes and making the challenge much sweeter than it might otherwise have been.
