Bend and Hole Problem
Read 708 times

I have TC12 Pro Ver 12.2 with Mechanical Pack.  I had it on my previous Desktop with Vista and Notebook with Vista.  Everything worked well.  I could do Bends through Edit menu and Holes from 3D Object menu.

I now have desktop and notebook with Windows 10.  I have installed TC Pro Ver 12.2 with Mechanical Pack and updated through 12.3 and 12.5 but cannot see the  Bends through Edit menu and Holes from 3D Object menu.  I must be missing a step during installing with Serial Numbers and Activation Codes from 1TC12 Pro Ver 2 and the Serial Numbers and Activation Codes for Mechanical Pack.  I did not restart between the two.  Could that be the problem?

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Well, let us try this way.  Does anyone use TC 12 Pro or has anyone ever used TC 12 Pro?  I have the Mechanical Pack with it and the manual says that is required.   I can not figure out why the Bend tool is not in my Edit Menu or the Hole tool is not in my Insert/3D Objects Menu.  Any help, recommendations, or assistance will be greatly appreciated.  I think I had this same problem years ago and someone here told me what I needed to do.

Ray.

Re - "Does anyone use TC 12 Pro or has anyone ever used TC 12 Pro?".  Hmm.  maybe the question should be.  Is anyone using Tc v12.5 on windows 10.

v12.5 was a paid upgrade to v12.  and one version I did not bother with (I had v12 at the time).  Reading your post.  I cannot tell exactly but the order in which you have typed the question, suggests you installed 12 and pack 'Before' upgrading to 12.5,  this I would guess is the wrong way round.   I would think the program should be at 12.5 before using the pack.  But.  As I say I didn't use 12.5 so it is just a guess.

Try turning your Windows-10 User Account Control setting to "Never" (essentially Off).

Restart your computer and launch TurboCAD-12.  See if that remedies it.  It did for me with TurboCAD-11 having a very similar issue when I moved to a Windows-7 machine.

Thanks Andy and Alvin for your replies.  I will uninstall/reinstallm12 Pro, add updates 3 and 5 then use the Mechanical Pack and see how that goes.

Alvin, I could not find  Windows-10 User Account Control setting to "Never" (essentially Off).  Where is it please.

Ray,

I am sure Alvin won't mind me stepping in here.

To turn User Account Control (UAC) off in Windows 10:-

Type UAC in the search field on your taskbar.
If the search field isn't visible, right-click the Start button and choose Search.
Click Change User Account Control settings in the search results.
Then to turn UAC off, drag the slider down to Never notify and click OK.

You may have to confirm your selection or enter an administrator password.

Alternatively, via Control Panel, see attachments below.

Reboot your PC for the change to take effect.

No help here. I checked V12.5.58.6 on my Vista machine and it had no Bend tool; as it's the "Basic Edition". Same deal when installed in Window 10. I do have the Bend tools in V14.

Well guys, I appreciate your help.  I still must be doing something wrong.  Can't even get anything to show up on Parts Tree Palate.  Along with my original problem.  I installed my (boxed) TurboCAD 12.2 Pro using their Serial # and Activation Key then upgraded to the Mechanical Serial # and Activation Key and restarted my computer.  That didn't solve my problem.  I then uninstalled/reinstalled my (boxed) TurboCAD 12.2 Pro using their Serial # and Activation Key then ran Patch for 12.3 then Patch for 12.5.  Then  upgraded to the Mechanical Serial # and Activation Key and restarted my computer.  That didn't solve my problem.  I don't know.  Wasn't this complicated when I had the same problem a few years ago.  Maybe I just need to go to a newer version.

A newer version sounds like a good idea. I wasn't especially happy with v12.5 even when it was first available.
