Hi,

first I would convert/save to TurboCAD native format file.
This may help.

You can design without engineering, but you cannot engineer without design.
Using Win 10 with Designer 2017 and TurboCAD Pro. Plat. 2016/2017/2018 + Lightworks (64-bit versions).

Now your file is in native TurboCAD format, are you able to render in hidden line mode?
It is ages since I used DXF files, so there may be a better way of importing.

The drawing, a guess, looks like an internal combustion engine?

A thing too check is if your HL render property have a checkmark for Non Rendable, in case take it away.( rigthclick on the Tea Cup)
For some stupid reason i dont understand they have started to have that as default, and then the render look like wireframe, so whats the point then to do a HL render ??

If is still not render normal, most likely the Object is exploded so it contains only lines/ polylines etc, and that is maybe the same issue like with the missing layer, everything is set on layer 0 before they make a dxf and send to you.

Next option is if it is a exploded P Space that is made in to a dxf ( By Selection ) can you see that it is a 3D Object in M Space ??

If it is 3D,   and you are using RedSDK hidden line.  Then apart from the non-renderable that Torfinn mentioned, the hidden line settings are in option menu - drawing set-up / RedSDK,  you could set the back line colour the same as the background, or you could try setting transparency to 0.

Native Hidden line - Hidden line are controlled from the hidden line render dialog box.

Gents,

First I must admit I am lying  :-[  The file was .stl

Tim - You are spot on. This Is a aircraft engine.
Henry - This drawing I can't post.

For me its seems like this happened after I imported this drawing.
But Is like this in all drawings. Possible I just noticed after the big drawing an all time before just had small stuff going on.

I attach another file.. But I think Torfinn and Andy is close to something.

Again Thanks to you all!

But the funny thing I like this option! But would have it as an additional option! Is it something for the wish 2019 list ?

You are in RedSDK mode, so then Andy's answer is the first thing to do.
go to Options/ RedSDK and change Transparancy to 0, default like you have is 0.1
And after that uncheck the Non Rendable in your setting, like you show in Pic.

Hei Torfinn,

Actually this worked - see picture!

But in 2019 I will not have Red ? And I love this render style but as an additional option!  ;D

Yes i know, but then your not using RedSDK and that will on a bigger drawing be much slower to render.
RedSDK's Hidden line is more powerfull, and it only render it one time pr session, HL will re-render everytime you change your view or something, and if you og back to Wireframe, in RedSDK it still remeber the HL and it will switch very quick back as it dont need to re calculate the Object, take a big drawing and check the difference between RedSDK HL and LW HL then you will see.

Hmmm.

What do we do after red is out ? I looked forward to just have one rendering option.
In 2017 is still have problems with rendering materials. Often get up not available in red or LW etc.
I know its just settings. But I just want it work out of the the box and tweak if a wanna go bananas.

Please save the world now :-) :-)

Two of your objects are linked, as shown in the attached video.

You should pick one or both and Explode.

Jeff, first I extruded downward the base. And after upward same shape but included inside shape.
I assume this is the reason for they are linked. But is it something wrong or just an observation ?

BTW: I did not know we could upload video :-) I can do in future to better describe problems.
You know what the practical best format and size ?

Best regards

In this case, I don't know.  Speaking from experience, when irregular things like that happen, it can cause other irregular things to happen.

Make your TC window as small as possible while still showing the necessary detail.  I most often use WMV, but I would suggest that it is ofttimes more important to add audio to describe what you're doing because I see too many things happening to follow the important stuff.
