Rendered Graphics freeze with upgraded PC

Just bought a new PC, with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6Gb graphics, and a fast processor, on Windows 10. Mainly for video editing.

Was expecting TC to work great too, but the drawing window keeps totally freezing when manipulating a rendered model, it's as if it's not being redrawn at all. Can't zoom, go back to wireframe, or anything.

This is with 17.2 Pro. I've tried GDI and RedSDK Native Draw, and the problem seems to be with both. Not yet experimented too far with other settings yet, as I though someone else may have experienced similar?

All seems well as long as I don't render and manipulate.

It sounds like you're in a Quality render mode. Use a Draft mode to move/examine the drawing. Normally, TurboCAD will temporarily switch to Draft if you're in Quality, but can get hung up in a complicated drawing trying to switch back-n-forth.

Thanks John.

Actually, my OP may (hopefully) be incorrect. I can't seem to re-create the problem now with RedSDK enabled. Not exhaustively tested by any means, but with GDI it seems to occur whenever I jump in and out of draft rendering.

On another (but similar) vein, although RedSDK looks fine in v17, in v2017 my text looks awful (wavy edges). I had this problem on my old PC, and was hoping it would be absent now, but sadly not. I've played around with 'text smoothing'. Any other ideas?

Ian,  Can you attach an image of the problem, along with an image of options menu - Native draw dialog (which shows the RedSDK setup).  RedSDK isn't the best with text, but doesn't look too bad on my computer (Windows 10, I7, Nvidia gtx660)

For better looking Text, I increase the Hardware and Text settings in Native Draw.

Having the same problem with a 1060. Is it a card problem?
