I have been locating small 3d hinge parts to a chassis also 3d. I drew one on its own then copied and moved to close to position. To finalise the position I am altering the coordinates. having done 3 out of 8 I lose all views except front & back views. This has happened twice. I am getting a viewport extents are not valid message
I am using 2018 deluxe 64 bit v.25 on windows 10 pro
can anyone help please :-\

It would be best to post the file so that people can explore/experiment before offering advice.

That being said, I can suggest the following if all the hinges are identical.

1. Take one hinge and alter its Reference Point to a place that makes it convenient to snap into position in your drawing.
2. Select the hinge, move it to Layer 0 and use the Format | Block function to make a library part.
3. Pull out this block item to place as needed.
4. If the visibility problem re-occurs, go to Wireframe mode (or to Hidden Line and back to Wireframe if already in Wireframe mode) and change the view (World, Front, whatever) to see if visibility is restored.

I had allready  tried diiferent view modes but without luck. I transferred the file to another computor and everything was good all views available. On the original laptop I therefor opened a new file and copied the parts over to the new file, a rather longwinded work around.
But it works. Thanks for your advice, john
