I need to save .tcw drawings, prepared in 2018 Deluxe, as .tcw version 2017 drawings BY DEFAULT .   How can I set this to happen?
........like I can in Microsoft Word for example.

I dont think you can save it back to a "By Default" drawing
But you can save it back to v 2017 by File/ Save As
Then you can open a New drawing from scratch and copy from the v 2017 drawing to the new one by ctrl a, c and v in the new one.
Or use the File/ "Subtract From" tool if you have that, or Tile the windows with both drawings open and just drag the objects over to the New, in case remember to be in Wireframe in both drawings when do so.

I looked in TurboCAD Explorer and I didn't see anything in the "Program Defaults" section referring to a Save File Extension.

The "System_Defaults" section has a "$SAVEFILEEXT" property, but changing the "TCW" value doesn't do anything (after a program restart). I tried different extensions (DGN, DWG), but the Save as Type still comes up TCW.

I think you're stuck with having to choose 2017 on every Save.

Many thanks, Torfinn and John R.     What a pain and I guess I live with pain!!!   Perhaps it is something worth looking at by the development gurus???
Over and out!

Does deluxe have  AddOns|SDK Samples|Tools|File Converter that can be used as batch converter, without the files having to be opened or specifically saved?  Leaves originals and copies as other formats to specified destination.

Deluxe does not have any of the "AddOns|SDK Samples|…" tools; only available in the Professional edition.
